The BRS™ system provides the protection of the boat from sinking and fire, only by replacing the corresponding nozzle on the fire extinguisher.
The use of the BRS™ system provides the protection of the boat, objects on board and the environment as the boat remains on the surface even in case of water ingress. Because of its very simple use, the system can be handled by every crew member. No additional training is required. Reading the instruction for use is enough. The energy for filling buoyancy bags comes from the enclosed fire extinguisher. The fire extinguisher is independent of external factors (engine on the boat, batteries, generators, human factor, etc.) and thus works under all conditions.
The exceptionally short time of preparation of the system for use makes it possible to rescue the boat from sinking in most cases of water ingress or damage to the boat.
The successful use of the system eliminates the subsequent exceptionally high costs of lifting the boat from the seabed and the costs of the remediation of the damage from sinking.
The system enables the control and immediate remediation in case of spillage of dangerous liquids such as motor fuels, engine oils, chemicals and others, what is not possible if the boat sinks. Small volume and low weight of the system. The use and storage of the BRS system is environmentally friendly.
The BRS™ system is available in four products:
BRS Kit 2N (with net): It is designed for small open boat. The weight of the displaced water is 1700 kg. It includes a fixing net for holding the buoyancy bags on the boat.
BRS Kit 4 (without net): It is designed for small to medium boat with a cabin.The weight of the displaced water is 3400 kg.
BRS Kit 4N: It is designed for small to medium open boat with a small cabin. The weight of the displaced water is 3400 kg. It includes a fixing net for holding two buoyancy bags on the boat.
BRS Kit 6: It is designed for boat length up to approximately 11m. The weight of the displaced water is 5100 kg.
By multiplying the BRS Kits even larger boats can be prevented from sinking.
One CO-2 fire extinguisher is sufficient to fill 6 of the buoyancy bags.
HOW MANY BAGS ARE NECESSARY FOR BOAT?
In a fact every calculation is individual. Important is specific weight of the boat. The bags have to compensate the weight of all parts on a boat, which specific weight exceed the weight 1000 kg/m3, as for example the engine, anchor, chains, mast, keel, …. . So practically the bags have to compensate the weight of all parts, which are not floating (buoyant).
For better understanding how many bags are necessary for one boat:
1. WOODEN BOAT: If is damaged wooden boat, it will stay on a sea level. In the case that wooden boat has the engine, anchor, chains, mast, keel, …. , what means the parts which are not floating, than you need so many bags, that you compensate the weight of all parts, which are not floating.
2. PLASTIC BOAT: If is damaged plastic boat, than it needs already a little buoyant force, because the specific weight of the plastic is in average a little higher as is specific weight of the water. In this case you need already bags for buoyant force for plastic boat. In the case that plastic boat has the engine, anchor, chains, mast, keel, …. , what means the parts which are not floating, than you need so many bags that you compensate the weight of all parts, which are not floating.
3. METAL BOAT: If is damaged metal boat, than you need so many bags (volumen of the bags) as is total weight of the boat.
In any case is better to take one or two bags more in calculation and also the boat will be higher of the level of the sea.
The BRS Kits will be delivered either with CO-2 extinguisher or without. It will be packed in one of our Dry Bags for better protection.
